PowerUp 3.0 by Emma

I am reviewing the PowerUp 3.0 airplane created by PowerUp. The paper airplane is designed to be controlled by your smartphone, with over 200 feet of control range. The kit is fairly simple to assemble by folding the paper and downloading an app. The tricky part comes in learning the skills to fly your airplane. I had so much fun experimenting with this airplane, and I hope the review is helpful.

The PowerUp 3.0 had great packaging. It was very unique in the way it displayed the plane’s carbon body. The box did not feel cheap or flimsy, but felt durable. The display would definitely catch my eye in a store. My only complaint for the packaging would be the zip ties that held the plane’s body in place. They were hard to cut out and awkward while you tried to not damage the body. The zip ties were not necessary since retractable clips already secured it.

PowerUp did extremely well with communicating their instructions. They were included in the package, on an app, and in a personal email. The paper instructions were very clearly understood and even gave “pro tips” for even better results. These instructions were thoroughly given in English, Dutch, French, and Spanish. The paper also included several barcodes, which were quick shortcuts to video instructions.

PowerUp also directed me to an app called PowerUp 3.0/Dart. This was very helpful in video presentation. It thoroughly went through all the steps for you to have the best experience possible. These videos were extremely helpful in explaining how to fold the plane correctly. How many companies give you video presentations instead of just confusing instruction manuals? I have no complaints with this aspect of the product.

I had a very positive experience with the PowerUp 3.0. It was difficult to control, but experimenting on ways to improve the flights made the product enjoyable. The longest assembling process was folding the plane. This was not complicated since I followed the video tutorial provided. Flying the plane was tricky for me because of how the app was set up. I had to hold the throttle in with one finger, throw the airplane with the other hand, and then steer the plane with the left and right buttons. This process would not have been as complicated if I did not have to press left or right each time I wanted to shift it. It would have been much easier to have sliding arrows. Although the steering was difficult, I enjoyed making adjustments and seeing how well I could make the plane work.

This product is practical for educational purposes. It is designed for STEM learning in evaluating and improving. The skill of evaluating, or finding the issue, is very crucial to many life situations. Once the problem is found, a plan of improvement is needed. The PowerUp 3.0 is designed to learn problem assessment and solving.

Below is a list of pros and cons to summarize my opinion of the product and to help answer any doubts or expectations that you have.

Pros

  • Clear instructions
  • Free app and video demonstrations
  • 2 sets of paper in case of mistakes in folding
  • Protection buffer for the nose dives

Cons

  • Extremely precise paper folding required
  • Paper may get bent
  • Price $50.00
  • Difficult to fly

In conclusion, PowerUp did a splendid job in the creation of this product. I admire the idea of a technology-flown paper airplane. The technology takes paper airplanes to a whole new level! Thank you, PowerUp, for allowing me to review your product.

Honeycomb Drawer Organizer – David K.

This product, Honeycomb Drawer Organizer, is a product made by the company Whitmore. This product is used for smaller items in drawers such as socks, ties, or any small clothing items. Personally, I did not try non-clothing items, but I believe that these organizers would function just as well either way. Overall, this organizer accomplishes its goal, but in the end, it could use some major improvement.

This picture is the assembled product in one of my sock drawers

One of the bright sides of this product was its packaging and its ease when it comes to the assembly and use of it. The packaging stood out on the shelves. It had a clean look that caught my eyes, and it also contained almost all the needed information. It was very specific on the measurement of the product as well as how to configure it. The product’s casing also shows an accurate and appealing picture of the product in use.

This is the original packaging of the product

One plus to this product is the fact that you can buy as many packages as you need to fill up a drawer. These packages contain eight pieces (according to the packaging); and these pieces are linked together using the small clamps on the pieces. If one package could not fill up the drawer, then you could simply buy another package and extend it to fit the drawer.

One extreme negative was the false advertising on the box. I am not sure if the box was mislabeled or if my package was faulty, but instead of receiving eight pieces, I only received seven pieces. I hope that not everyone is cheated out of a piece of this product, but it was disappointing to not receive all that I was expecting from this product.

These are the seven pieces I did receive

The product was fairly effective at achieving the purpose of organizing my smaller clothing pieces. For all the socks and ties that I put in this product, it was very neat and easy to find what I was looking for. One negative, however, was the size. The product worked well on some of my smaller socks, but some of my longer socks (like basketball socks) could not fit into the organizer without completely forcing them down in. Also, it would not work for some more necessary drawers of mine that need to be organized like my shirt drawer. This would not be a problem, but, where I bought this product there was only one size available.

One creative use for this product was its use as a shelf. I used a nail to hang it on the wall. The comb-like shape of the organizer acts as a perfect series of shelves that looks very creative and neat.

This is the product after I used a nail to mount it on the wall

Overall, I recommend this product to whoever has trouble with organizing small clothes items. Personally, over time, my drawers tend to become very untidy and this was very effective at keeping especially my sock drawer neat.

Drone-Clone Xperts – Justin M.

PACKAGING: Drone-Clone Xperts did an outstanding job with the packaging of this item. Once the drone arrived, I received a nice case built out of a nice material that included the drone, the controller for the drone, batteries, a charging cable, and extra propellers in case some get damaged. The inside of the case was very supreme. It had a protective layer of soft foam surrounding the drone and the controller so that both of the items would take zero damage during shipment. When I opened the case, there was indeed zero damage taken on the drone and the controller. I was very happy.

DRONE: The drone is very unique. It has several epic qualities. One of these qualities is that there is an app you can download on your phone called the JY UFO APP. Through this app, you can calibrate your drone with ease, and you can view what the front of the drone is seeing through a camera on the drone which is casting a 120-degree ultra-wide-angle 720P HD video for you to view through the JY UFO APP. The drone has one key take-off & auto-return home meaning with the press of one button, the intelligent drone will take-off and land automatically until you can master the drone’s controls and control it with precision. The drone can achieve a 360-degree flip. The drone has altitude hold which means you can lock in the height and location of the drone which enables the drone to have a more steady flight (great for recording videos!). The drone has trajectory flight meaning you can draw a path on your phone’s screen that the drone will automatically follow as it hovers through the air. The drone even has voice command! You can say different keywords that will automatically make the drone do a certain thing (Up/Down, Forward/Backward, Turn Left/Right, Sideward Flight). The drone also has fancy LED lights built into it to make spotting the drone at night very simple. This drone has so many unique abilities!

CONTROLLER: The controller for the drone has several buttons, which you can easily learn how to use and master through the drone’s detailed instruction guide. There is a button on the controller which will make the drone automatically hover into the air, and then carefully hover back down until it lands safely (I found this the most interesting thing about the drone). Linking a connection between the drone and the controller is very simple. All it takes is a very easy movement of the joysticks up and down, and they’re linked! From here, using the instruction guide is pretty much necessary because learning the different controls is pretty important. Once you have them down pretty well, this drone is so much fun to fly and use! It is a very epic experience!

A huge thank you to Matthew Kenney from Drone-Clone Xperts for giving me the opportunity to receive and test this drone!

Milwaukee Red Stick Level – Justin R.

Today, I will be reviewing the Milwaukee Redstick (Milwaukee’s smart level).  It came in nice packaging. It was easy to open, and once opened it was like Christmas.  I was expecting just the level and the battery. To my surprise, it came with a cord and USB-wall adapter along with two manuals.  Then, what shocked me even more was that it came with a bag to haul it in!
